The locomotive which hauled the last British Rail passenger steam train is restored to its former glory.

Went to the "1968 and all that" Event at the NRM yesterday. Cromwell looks fantasic although it still needs lining out. It was also nice to see Evening Star out of doors. Cromwell, Evening Star and Clun Castle lined up together looked splendid.

However although there are some interesting locos there there are not very many. It is nothing like Railfest.

Also it seems unbelievable to stage a 1968 End of steam event without a Black Five and an 8F as both featured in the dying hours of steam.

I was in York anyway and hadn't traveled there specially. I think I would have disapointed if I had made a special trip.
