Llangollen 60's Weekend

This should be a good event although it does clash with the ELR one,

http://www.llangollen-railway.co.uk/event.php?id=79

Hopefully fingers crossed, rabbits foot stroked etc etc we hope to have 45337 up and running in next week, if that is the case and everything works then she will put in an appearance as 45156 Ayrshire Yeomanry in a heavily weathered state along with 44806 (see the current issue of Steam Railway page 66) before she is shipped back to the NNR.

Double headed Black 5's up the Dee Valley are promised on both days. along with the other locos.

Cheers John

Thanks for the update John, and I hope everything goes well with the "owd lass"

Already pencilled the date in, it's a busy weekend with the already mentioned ELR event. It's also the Gala at Threlkeld Quarry for some narrow gauge ection I was thinking of visiting this also.

There might be a change to the schedule locos now Ken after this incident on Saturday evening, a bad blow for a great railway.

Desperately sorry to hear the news. Hope that the idiot(s) who did this are caught and soon.

Best wishes to all at Llangollen Railway.

I agree John, I have seen the damage to the underside of both tender and loco, and how she stayed on the rails is just down to good fortune on the day.

Cheers John

A very sad story, what pleasure do these idiots get from this sort of escapade. They should be locked up for a long time, if not tied to the track when a train's coming

I just can't for the life of my understand the mentality of people who commit this sort of very dangerous vandalism! What a very sad reflection on our society. So glad no one was hurt but what a shame for the added cost to our overstreached volunteer crews and lines.
Mindless?
A very sad
Phil

Glad everybody came away safely. These thing did happen years ago ,but thankfully not often.
Anyone convicted should receive a substantial sentence, as it is only by the grace of God, that there was not a disaster.
