GWR Xmas Diesel Day 2009

Just back from a top notch day at this ever popular event.

Well done to all involved just what the doctor ordered after all that turkey and ale.

Great selection of shots. Some of them look as if they were taken in Scotland!

Please would you post a selection to the Forum's Gallery?

Best wishes for 2010.

I am assuming that they were taken at the Glos and Warwicks. I hope I am right!

Best wishes for 2010.

Fantastic!

Many thanks for the link to the photos. It just shows how good the diesel fleet is on the Glos Warks Rly. The faded EWS livery 08 is a new one to me, I presume it's a visitor or it might be a new resident?

The landscape photography is excellent and, I know some shots will accentuate the hills but it just shows how great the GWR line is even on a dull day in the most miserable time of the year (Christmas or not!) and how much we perhaps take it for granted. I think these shots also show just how hard the trackside clearance gang have been working and how much better the lineside looks now thanks to their efforts. Here's to 2010.

The gronk is a new addition to the fleet, don't know where it came from.

The track side clearance is brilliant and has open up the railway not only to the photographer's but more importantly the travelling public

I look forward to the opening of the new loop and extension to Broadway
