Sorry chaps - memory bank shutdown; I visited the NRM in 1988, saw a BIG Chinese loco. I'd just assumed (recently) that it must have been a QJ, but I've just checked my notes from that day, and it was a 4-8-4, numbered 607. Ooops.

Its a beauty and a beast, its just a shame it doesn't have a red star on the front and China Railway logo's on it!

Thats a good photopic and added to my favorite sites!

I'm not really a steam man, but I've always liked Chinese steam, its a pity that I've missed the boat for mainline steam.

Well its the youngun's layout so let him have the stock he likes, no matter how strange it may seem to only want 153's & 156's

There are some good DMU models out there, personally I would quite like to see a Strathclyde 156 running about, I'm sure Hornby did a half decent example a few years back...........

Tosh! When I went to the NRM and saw this great big Chinese loco, I travelled to Southampton on a class 155 unit (later converted into 2 class 153's). So it's all connected....
