Railway Station sign help

Good Evening, I have recently purcheased an old Railway station sign (attached) but with very little history. I was windering if anyone is able to tell how old it is and which station it would have been seen on All I know is that it was North West Region. I understand that the sign may have been used on many stations but am just wondering if there is a way of telling moore specifically where it could be found.

Thanks a lot
Dan

Hello Dan,
This sign can be found at the end of every platform. It must be the most common warning sign on the railway and not confined to the North West.

It may be even younger than that
this is a purely British Rail sign not even old enough to say British Railways
Found at every station at the end of all platforms

MIGHT be worth something in 25 years

I am a bit mistified by the colour so perhaps it is later then the days of the six regions. There was no such thing in thoses days as a North West region with its own colour. They were:-
Western - brown Midland - maroon
Southern - green North Eastern - orange
Eastern - dark blue Scottish - light blue
Later we got Provincial Railways/Regional railways and Network South etc.
I suppose the pictured one could have been North Eastern but it is too red.
