Colas Class 66

Good Morning. I'm going to London on Monday for a few days and would really like to see a Colas Class 66. Does anyone know the best place to be in with a chance of seeing one and-even better- have any departure times

Any help is greatly appreciated
Dan

Dan, No wrong direction, train goes via Barking, Woodgrange Park so it runs in the evening. I've only seen it late evening Factory Jcn. SR. I do not know running times or normal routing cross London.

By "Valencia train" you mean the car carrier ? Yesterday it passed Barking about 16.00 pulled by 66160, no Colas Rail locos were seen between 13.00 and 17.45. A rail treatment train was lurking about with 66043 & 66186 in charge.

Tony, The train I mentioned is a Transfesa Service which runs from Fords Sidings, Dagenham Dock to Silla, Valencia, Spain via the Channel tunnel. It conveys Blue 40' Curtain sided containers on 4 Wheel Flats. Originally it was for conveying car parts between Ford Factories in Spain and the UK but it now also carries manufactured goods between the two countries. The contract to haul this train has been with Colas for over a year now since they replaced DBS. The train was hauled by 2x47s when Colas first won the contract but now is rostered for Class 66s which are stabled at Ripple Lane FLT which is operated by 'Russells' not as I said 'Malcolms'.
