I recently used this for info, I was a bit sceptical, since the info was dated 2004, but the cost & conditions were exactly the same when I purchased a "Coasts & Peaks 4 in 8 day Rover" costing £54.00. There IS a "Freedom of Wales 4 in 8 day Flexi Pass" available for £69.00, this includes 4 days worth of train travel + 8 days of bus travel in Wales over an 8 day period; Limits are Newport, Shotton, Chester, Crewe, Shrewsbury, Craven Arms, Hereford & Abergavenny.

With regard to my previous posting concerning Railrovers & the like, here's another useful ticket not mentioned in the link I suggested:
Southern DaySave.
This is for use on Southern Trains, which will get a chap between Southampton/Portsmouth to Hastings & Ashford, Chichester, Uckfield & Brighton to Victoria/London Bridge, and lots in between. It's only available if you are registered with Southern (free), and also only available online. Here's the good bit: it only costs £10! (It would cost me over £28 for the cheapest day return to London from Portsmouth).

Here's the conditions:
Southern DaySave costs just £10 per adult, or in a group (valid for up to four passengers who must travel together) DaySave costs just £20
Accompanied children travel for only £1 each (maximum 4 children per paying adult or group ticket)
Southern DaySave is only available online and must be purchased a minimum of 7 days before travel
During seasonal holiday periods, tickets may have to be purchased a minimum of 14 days before travel
If booking from outside of the UK tickets must be purchased a minimum of 14 days before travel
Southern DaySave offers you unlimited off-peak travel on Southern services on the day validity, subject to the following restrictions.
DaySave can be used as follows:
- Anytime on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays
- Not before 10:00 Monday to Friday
- Not between 16:45 and 19:15 Monday to Friday from London stations (Victoria, London Bridge and Clapham Junction)
- Not valid from London Waterloo or north of London Bridge
Group tickets are valid for up to four people (adults or children) who must travel together at all times.
Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded.
Please note: Your transaction is only complete once you have received a confirmation email.

Another good loophole (for me, at any rate) for travel to London (from Portsmouth) is: instead of buying a day return to Waterloo, a day return to London Zone 1 costs just £21. 70 (or thereabouts), and includes a one day travelcard for Zone 1. Also it can be used from 10.15am, earlier than the availability of a normal day return.

Was considering doing an all line rover to redsicover some memories from my youth of bashing 87s but there are no longer any in service, instead the worst trains ever built in the pendolino That aside theres far too many DMU and EMUs on the best lines now to warrant purchasing one of these tickets, dont mind hsts and 91s but too many plastic trains on the network now.
