A bit off topic again but which London Transport bus service (clue - it has the bendy buses) does not require a fare?

I don't know for certain but would it be an interstation bus for the main line if it still runs. Or maybe a service to London City Airport?

No... it's the Seventy Free, apparently its passengers aren't using their Oyster cards when they get on at the rear!

Seriously though, I am in Calgary here in Western Canada and we have an LRT service which runs the length of the downtown core and no fare is required to use it on the five or so stations, over about 3km, along its way. It is a great boon and means that pedestrians can get around quickly and efficiently.

Impressive, I think.

I could make a pun about the rear of the seventy free as a bum deal you know.

And can anyone name the only (legitimately) free service on the national rail network? (Clue: But if you stay on it would be one of the most expensive)

I've already asked that question in the Quiz section a couple of years ago.

Services between Heathrow Central and Terminals 4 and 5 are free.
