Wink John O Gaunt & a Big hello

Hello,

I am new to the site, so first a big hello steam lovers . My Grandfather used to drive the John O Gaunt and I am trying to find out what happened to it. He would love to visit it again and I would love to see it. I have an amazing picture of him with it at Liverpool St. Station when he was 21...

Any advice or news or simular trians to visit would be great

Many thanks.x

Welcome to the site and hope you enjoy looking round.JOHN OF GAUNT Britannia Pacific 70012 was originally one of the batch which worked the expresses between Liverpool Street and Norwich. Pushed further north by dieselisation it ended its days at Carlisle and was withdrawn from service I think in December 1967 but stand to be corrected on that. It went for scrapping but I don't know where

Thanks senoir controller for your information - that is such a shame, what an amazing engine. Is there some good place I can post the picture of my Grandfater with the John o Gaunt? As I haven't found many of it so far and feel pictures like this should be shared.

Hi and welcome, you can post the picture on the forum gallery, then all members can see it. 70013 Oliver Cromwell, another member of the same class is currently running on the mainline, you can find details of where and when if you go to this link
