Irish Mk 3 coaches

Reading in Railway magazines it seams the Irish mk3's are being scrapped! Can we not use them here in the UK. They even have sliding doors that ours don't. I know the bogies are a different gauge but there are loads of spares in the UK from redundant sleeper stock.
What do you all think?
