Actually I took the name 'Bridgewater' from a RR station that once existed a few miles from my home. There is nothing there nowadays but a passing track. I have an old black & white photo of the station that was taken back in the 1920's. It's the only photo of the Bridgewater station in existence as far as I know.

Yo Bridgewater, welcome to our forum.

Bet you're finding life a bit 'quiet' now you're out of Iraq.

Tell me, do they run trains out there ?

Regards,
FP

I never saw a train running while there. My job was driving a fuel truck in military convoys to the different bases in southern Iraq so I got to see a bit of the country. All I recall seeing was rusting track and what appeared to be abandoned sand covered right-of-ways. Pretty depressing really. Perhaps there are trains running in Iraq but if so, I never saw 'em

Glad to be out of the 13th century and back in the 21st!

I saw a recent picture somewhere of a passenger train in Baghdad (taken by a squaddie) showing an immaculate Chinese built DF clone hauling a box car which seemed to be operating a passenger service............
