Nice thought but no, I have 7 kids 18 Grandkids and a Great Grandchild due at any tick of the clock, I don't think they would take to kindly to me moving their Aussie Mum to England.

The closest I can get to home is with my memories, lots of British Railway DVDs, a OO Gauge model railway layout, British Magazines and forums such as this one, always good to get railway news from home and look at photo Galleries such as the one on this forum.

Welcome to the Forum David, hope you enjoy it.

I had a great time in Oz two years ago including visits to The Valley Rattler, Zig-Zag and Puffing Billy Railways.

Best wishes,

John H-T.

I know just what you mean David. I miss Southern Africa which is my home. Born in Bechuanaland (now Botswana), moving to Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) as a toddler, and did not leave Africa until I was 22+. I have made my home in the UK and class myself as British. I have full British citizenship. I have visited family back in South Africa a number of times but as I was in Ian Smiths army, The Zimbabwe joke of a government will not let me back into the country. Southern Africa is one of those places that gets into your blood. You either love it or hate it, I love it
