Time Lapse of First Great Western Train Journey - London Paddington to Twyford

Hi,

I have been experimenting with some cameras we have at work and shot a time lapse of my commute home from Paddington to Twyford. Not sure if this is the right place to post it, apologies if not!

Hope you all enjoy.

Personally I don't like music accompanying videos because I don't see what it adds but (muted) this is a most original and interesting creation which I enjoyed watching. Thanks for posting.

T_om Welcome to the forum and your "interesting" time lapse scene. Not sure it me though to be honest.
Please don't be deterred or disheartened by that comment because its not what I like does not mean others wont enjoy it! Its always interesting to see things from a different perspective. Anyway I do hope you enjoy the company on this forum cos they are a great bunch on here!
All the best
Phil

Thank you for your comments so far! Sorry for the music, i know it wouldn't suit everyone, but thought it'd be better then no sound at all!

If anyone has any suggestions about how they may like it to have been shot, please let me know and I'll give it a try!

Tom

Welcome to the Forum Tom and thanks for the Video. It was a bit fast for me. It gave a similar feeling to travellling on the Maglev in Shanghai.

Best wishes,

John H-T.

Certainly not the usual type of film. Not to my taste i'm afraid. If you did a timelapse film of a site or if you could get permission, from the driving cab it would probably be more to most people liking.
Sorry.

An interesting experiment. One obvious distraction is the reflection, which shows the interior and other occupants of the carriage – an unfortunate result of the double glazed windows in modern rolling stock. Any way you can find to minimise that would be hugely beneficial; perhaps some kind of box screen around the lens? Then there is the angle. This film is shot directly at 90° out of the window, which I think is a bad idea. If the camera could be angled more to the front it would produce a much more interesting result, as lineside objects would come into view at a reasonable speed, allowing them to be recognised before disappearing. With the side-on view everything is just a blur. As for the soundtrack – I rather like it; I'm kinda into chillout music at the moment!

I agree with peoples comments about angle & reflections but still found it interesting & liked the music, thanks for showing this.
