My Brother in Law worked for South Africa - SAPPI SAICCOR Co. and managed to get me a footplate 2 hour trip on their No.3 loco.

I never got a ride on the footplate, but we did many trips on trains hauled by steam when I was a kid. The class 25NC locos were pretty powerful. I did some voluntary work for the Umgeni Steam Railway a few years ago.
