I think they are virtually all going to Bulgaria, aren't they ? Chef should be able to tell us what livery they were in. The ones which were are LNWR Crewe for some weeks (not these) were in yellow / green or orange / blue livery with revised numbering.

I can say for definite that 003 & 034 were in Green and 006 was in Blue on leaving Crewe.
There is a photograph of them leaving crew on the attached web site
http://www.burgess57.freeserve.co.uk/railways.htm
The photo is dated 21 December 2008

All the best:
Davat.

I assume that by 'Hull bound' you mean the port of Hull? If so, I'll keep my camera in my pocket in case I see a low loader with a Class 87 passing by.

there was one of these 87s in LNWR, Crewe today. In a black and pink (!) livery, and named "FLoyd". I'll try and get a photo tomorrow...

Bulgaria are getting about 30 aren't they?

I think the plan livery wise is any of the 87s that could do with a repaint will be getting the yellow and green, the ex Virgin liveried locos being a prime example. All other 87s in good external condition (FGBRf, Costwold Rail livery etc.) are staying as they are, just rebranding.

Will be sad to see them go, but it's in their best interest.

Now then, who wants to go to Bulgaria once they all settle in?
