Hi everyone another new member

My name is Graham Im 55 and now live in kent. I first had an interest in trains from the age of 4. I was born in Blackpool and have vivid memories of train spotting on Bloomfield Road bridge it was all steam then. Highlights were holidays in Cornwall and staying with relatives in the summer holidays who lived alongside the main Birmingham to Bristol line in Selly Oak Birmingham. Football and women came along and my interest diminished I had one spell again when my son was about 3 but since moving to Kent I have renewed my interest with trips I could only dream of as a child ie Kings Cross Paddington and Clapham Junction

Hello Graham and welcome to the forum, I remember going to Blackpool in the 50s and during the Summer it was very busy with the excursions from all over the place, enjoy and all the best.

Yes Blackpool certainly saw a variety of locos, I can remember summer saturdays being extremely busy

Hi Graham, welcome to the forum. As I'm sure you're aware, we get a fair amount of main line steam in the south east, particularly through Ashford and Canterbury.

regards,
Tony
