Bollington: a new era!

Right, I have been asked to create a page on wikipedia on the line.
Well, as there is already a page on the Macclesfield, Bollington and Marple railway, I have added a section under present day use.
What do you think?
Should I put anything more?

In my opinion you should take it off at least until you get firm decision from the council, why do I think this, well for one as far as I can tell you still have'nt gone public with this scheme, and if I was a resident of the area I would like to find out they were planning to build a railway on my doorstep through official channels and not an internet reference site.

I understand what you are on about.
I have contacted the local newspapers about it but nothing has come of it.
They say that my letter was not receiced, so maybe it has been lost in the system.
Anyway I am asking quite a few people about it.
Most are local enthusiasts and believe me there's a lot of them!
You are right and I will try to go on a wider scale to the public.
We hope a survey of all the residents should do, but it is all about cost at this stage.

I think that this is quite important.

I have got loads of track now.
I am not sure how much as I am going to stocktake soon.
I cannot beleive the state of the lindow moss peat line.
The peat has preserved the track perfectly.
The line did only close in 1987 however.

Just walked the route as the site, although still working occasionaly, is open completely for public access ant there as several paths.
I often take a walk down the trackbed betwwen the sheds and sidings to the other parts of the network.

The line does not have a page on wikipedia so I will give you some info now so we can fully understand where our track is comming from.

Between the sheds and sidings to the main netwok junction the track has been lifted, but there is most of the sleepers still in place.
The track missing from here forms a nearby fence.
At the junction there is many other lines comming away from the main line, some of which have been obliterated completely to dig more peat.

About half of the network lies there still so we have enough track around the site to get from our new station to over the viaduct, with a line speed of 10mph.

There may be much more track lying on the old branch that heads in the direction of morely green but stops somewhere short.
If you wish to go
it is a nice place, but be carefull of workings if they are happening.

Possibly one of the most important moments has happened.
As well as Lord millett, we now have Lord Finney!
Lord Finney is a member of my family who I do not have very good contact with, but I spoke to him the other day and he agrees to give his full support.
It does depend on his health however.
As my great, great uncle you can imagine that things get a bit tiresome, but we are greatful for his support now.

As you can guess I'm a bit posh!

If you don't recognise Lord finney, the family used to own Fulshaw hall in cheshire until it was sold to ICI and is now with royal london.

Look up the finneys on the web.
If you find the complete family tree with samual finney on it, I am on it towards the Bottom.
It is in the cheshire line.

Try an attachment of fulshw hall.

Right a few things.
Lord Finney is often not well enough bless him and does not have a computer at all.
Lord Millett has joined except the activation code never arrived.

Lindow Moss is just outside of wilmslow, near manchester airport.
Bought the track? Well now that a lot of the peat works is becomming paths, the track is unwanted so they were happy for us to take it.
How did I transport it?
I carried it for a bit which hurt so I got a wheel barrow.
Yes it took a while!
We have not got all of it, only about 100 yards at the moment.
Oh and did I mention that one day in the distant future I will get the title of Lord of the land, but that will be a long time in the future.
There is at least 4 people in line before me!
