Help with filming Freight Trains!

Hi there!

Am new to the forum, and I need some help. I'm doing a project which involves filming Freight trains, and i'm finding it hard to know exact times for Freight trains in my area- Manchester.

I've spoken to Freightliner, and they've suggested the public pathway above Cornbrook, which is a good spot, but they can't tell me exactly when a train will pass there! And i've seen their timetables, but not sure how to work out exact

If any of you could recommend a time (or location too!) for filming some nice shots of Freight trains, that would be amazing!

Many thanks,

Kate

The problem with freight trains is although there's a time table they hardly ever run to time

try using http://www2.realtimetrains.co.uk/ BUT click on the ADVANCED button before you search although you will not get a headcode it will give yo ua list of potential times the freight should pass wherever you go

You could do worse than Stafford on a Tuesday, up to 30 freights between 8am and 6pm, apparently there are 54!! rostered, but of course they don't all run.
