A steam railway charitable trust says the £5m it needs to raise to resurrect a railway line includes the cost of building a tunnel.

From what I recall the first step is quite a substantial bridge that is needed over a river as well. Thats a lot of money to find.

I do hope this latest "mission impossible" for the preservation movement is successful. It deserves to be. It is the finishing touches to a great project to produce a line linking two important tourist centres in the Highlands. It would be a fantastic tourist attraction for the area.

One can only hope that the Scottish Parliament is as supportive of Heritage Lines as the the Welsh Assembly have been!
