Looking forward to seeing the finished article at Matlock. Having grown up there and only seeing a bare trackbed for so many years, just seeing a railway there at all is a bonus. How long until Matlock station becomes the only station in Matlock?

Riverside platform is to be retained so that trains can still run to Matlock in the event that the main station is unavailable at any time.

Unfortunately it would seem that the planned Charter into Peak Rail on 22nd May Has been canceled:

'The Rail Touring Company notified Peak Rail on Friday 6th May 2011 that
the rail tour which was scheduled for Sunday 22nd May 2011 had been
cancelled due to insufficient stock being available to them on this
date.'

Issued on behalf of the board of Directors of Peak Rail plc
Claire Statham
Commercial Manager"

Best wishes,

John H-T.
