Right guys a bit of an update.
Just been mooching round the web for materials that cannot be found at Lindow moss.
So far I have been looking at brick types for structures.
What do you think would look best for the railway's buildings that are planned?
Cheshire brick is in consideration so far and so is accrington.
I have also been locating original railway benches which would fit well with the area.
For this I have found 2 benches from the original line!

Got to act fast!

Today I took another walk down to fetch some track and it seems we have a bit of a problem.
As conservationists are quite rightly trying to put a stop to the workings at lindow moss and the council has given them notice, they are now digging it up faster than they ever have done, ground level there has gone down by 8 feet.

In case they start ripping up the railway as an attempt to get more peat underneath, I have to act quick.
So tomorro we are driving the car up in an attempt to salvage as much as we can.
The future of the project is in a bit of jeopardy!
I hope we can either retrive enough track for the first phase or stop the destruction.
I am going down to wilmslow library not far away to find a map of the network as some lines are now overgrown and are hard to find.
I need to consult our two lords about this and see what we can do.
The area where the famous Lindow man was found is also in the firing line.
Something has to be done and fast!

Just a quick message.
I have just created a public social group on this subject as to free up the forum and let some other discussions take place.
I realise I am not being that fair so that is where the discusssion can continue.
You can find it on my public profile.
Its for everyone.

I think it would be less complicated to just keep things as they were.

Just post when there is something actually worth talking about.

Well it's your decision.

I was only expressing an opinion.

What do other members think ?

I think this thread should be in the derailed forum under good jokes.

Well I do admit sometimes I sleep type, but it is not going that badly locojoe.
That is apart from the track crisis that occured yesterday.
If you remember it was in derailed, but it has slowly materialised into something that is becoming a reality and was quite rightly moved into narrow gauge.

Again I will simplify.
We decided on a railway a while back whilst walking the route.
Then we contacted the council about a possible project.
We have heard that a decision is still being worked out.
We have planned 4 stages.
I have started to collect track.
Now we have a problem: the track could be ripped up from the peat site and totally obliterated, setting back the project if not destroying it if I cannot get enough track.
At present there is enough for about phase 1.
I am doing my very best.

SMBC are in a different area may I say, I have given them a ring but no one seems to be home.
My emails gone a bit haywire too, says the host cannot be found or something.
I will send a letter to both councils tomorrow morning.
If you see this chap again could you mention that a letter is being sent.
Just hope the postal strike ends.
