Risex exhibition 21 Feb

Risex 2009
Venue: Community Centre(adjacent to Springs swimming pool), Wades Park, Stratton Road, Princes Risborough, Bucks, HP27 9AX
Date : Saturday the 21st of February 2009
Hours: 10.00 - 17.00

The whole of the Community Centre in Princes Risborough is taken over one day in the spring each year. Allowing local modellers to display their layouts and model making.
Ample car parking adjacent to the exhibition. Trains every 20 minutes from London Marylebone and half hourly from Birmingham and Banbury. Light refreshments will be available. Disabled access available.

Layouts Confirmed to date (January 2009)

Bulverhythe: 3mm, Peter Bossom, War-time Southern England is brought to life on this unusual layout, roadsigns and nameboards have all dispeared from 'Hastings-by-the-Sea but that doesn't stop the locals.
Legorail: 'L' scale (8mm/ft), Max Brayne, R&DMRC, View some of the Legorail locos and rolling stock on this layout.
Mellin Parva: 16.5, David Simmonite, A railway station, a boating wharf and a sunny day in the 1950s. What else could be needed to complete this idilyc scene? - Nothing!
Oxford Victoria: OO Gauge, Oxford & Distrcit MRC, A small suburban station somewhere in the Oxford suburbs, after the completion of a proposed Metropolitan line to Oxford.
Rannoch Junction: OO Gauge, Risborough & District MRC, A West Higland line station based at those of Crianlarich and Rannoch, set in the mid 1980s, were large logo 37s are taken over from the Class 27.
St Gennys V: 16mm/ft - 2ft NG, Andrew Neal, Live steam and battery powered loco hauled trains running on a double track quarry and passenger layout. Live steam returs to RISEX.
The Brewery: EM Gauge, Anthony Wood, Ian Manderson & Pete Johnson, The Brewery layout was built for the 2002 DEMU small layout competition, that among other things stipulated that it must not exceed an area of 654sq ins and have at least one working turnout.
West London Parcels: OO Gauge, John Baggaley, Marlow Maidenhead & District MRC, Set in the 1970s/80s in the middle of British Rail’s ‘Blue Period’ the layout represents a fictitious parcels depot located on a short spur from the West London Extension Railway (the Willesden Jct/Olympia/Clapham Jct link).
Wood Street: O Gauge, Swindon MRC, Although this is a freelance design, the layout's location is based loosely on the industrial area of Old Town in Swindon. This area used to have rail access until the early seventies.
