Piccadilly Line: new trains.
Designs for a new generation of Tube trains for London's Piccadilly Line, which will replace the existing 1970s fleet, have been unveiled.
Ninety-four new "fully walk-through" trains with air-conditioning and more space, will replace the 50-year-old stock, Transport for London (TfL) said. The trains will also be lighter, more environmentally-friendly and future-proofed for a longer life, TfL added. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-56273283

Walk-through trains scare the bejazez out of me.
Nowhere to run to in a fire, very risky if smoke gets into any carriage. Because they're air conditoned, there is no way of getting air in if the Traction Current goes out. Passengers are far more likely to panic, and leave the train rather than stay on board. All of this nonsense at a time when we're trying to persuade passengers NOT to go onto the tracks in an emergency. Very much unjoined up thinking.
