Stafford Model Railway Exhibition 2012

The Stafford Model Railway Exhibition is set for the 4th and 5th February 2012 at the Staffordshire County Showground. Once again it looks to be a good selection of layouts with plenty of trade support and demonstrators. As previous there will be a free bus link from Stafford railway station to the showground for those wishing to travel by public transport to the event.

Had a good day yesterday at the exhibition and got several odds and ends I needed for my section of the club's modular layout.

Was able to spend some time behind the scenes on "Alloa" with Mike (60159). Great to meet you Mike. Thank you for spending so much time with me when you were obviously busy. A big thank you to all the team on "Alloa" for their time. It is a superb layout so if you didn't get to Stafford to see it watch out for it in future. Attached are a few photos to whet your interest.

Delighted to meet you and delighted that you took the time and trouble to come and say hello. Sorry I was a wee bit distracted as I was having to keep the trains running as we spoke and being a mere male, multi-tasking doesn't come easy!

Show closed early (4pm) on Sunday because of weather and to allow more time for exhibitors traders and public to get safely home. Numbers were very low from mid afternoon Saturday until about lunchtime on Sunday. Hope likely financial impact on organisers and traders not too severe.

Alloa won best visiting layout in show which gave us all great pleasure.

PS Was sorry to hear of Peter's (ex 48111) illness and hope he can have peace and be pain free with the time he has
