Exclamation Wcrc banned again!

West Coast Railway Co. have reportedly been banned from running their steam operations on the main line.
They are banned from 23.00 tonight (24th Novemeber) for once again an apparent isolation of the TPWS, this time relating to a working involving Black 5 No.45231 on October 2nd.

It's reported on several railway websites including Heritage Railway & Railway Magazine although info is still a little patchy; here is a link to the story on Rail magazine's website:

Shouldn't judge until the full facts are known, but the phrase "Not again" springs to mind...

UPDATE 25/11/15

Whilst the initial statement from the ORR indicated that all WCRC steam operations were suspended from 23.00 last night, there has now been a slight change to that situation.

It now appears that certain steam locos can be allowed to operate if the TPWS on any such loco is passed as suitable by the ORR - the ORR is stipulating that the TPWS must be "tamper-proof" and as such, LNER B1 No.61306 & LMS Black 5 No.45407 have been passed to work trains this week. Each of the steam locos operated by WCRC are to be assessed on an individual basis. At present , the ORR states that a 'blanket ban' remains on the WCRC steam operations (although there are now clearly exceptions).

As before, it would be wrong to pass judgement until the full facts are known, and this seems to be quite a complicated situation!
