Maybe the 'second man' position should be reinstated, then there would always be someone prepared to take the pi** out of the driver!

In these days of equality, how do female drivers cope?

In the event of not being able to utilize the time-honoured cliche 'tie a knot in it' I suppose they must have to resort to Tena Lady? ...or fill a balloon? Seriously though - no idea!

There is a lady freight driver I speak to now and again on another forum...I suppose I could ask, but how to frame the question delicately enough so that she doesn't think I'm some kind of weirdo pervert?!

They probably use them panties that are common at pop concerts where you cant leave your place at the front for a pee so you go in your liner then try not to drink too much.

Far Too Much Information in some of these posts!!!

However, back to the topic! I seem to remember that the class 47? also had a hot plate/ring in one cab.
And one of the best breakfasts I ever had was fried on a shovel, unfortunately I can't remember which loco! as I was rather young at the time. My best efforts always fail to quite match up to the memory!

A cooker on a 66 is vital on a 12 hour ballast turn in the middle on nowhere land.
I f you sit on the second mans side, and fall asleep with your feet on the dashboard you can cook your steel toe cap boots. It takes ages for them to cool down.

I dunno, a ring to boil your kettle, newspapers and hands-free driving - it's like 'job on the council' as they used to say
