Class 66 Hot Plates!!

Do any class 66 drivers actually use the hot plates in the cab to make a cup of tea or something? A strange question I know but interested to know!

Jon.

Jon.
Yes i finished in 2004 due to my left eye not being up to standard and
on early turns i used to take a small frying pan bacon egg tomatoes and mushrooms to work with me, LOVELY sat in Meldon Quarry.
And yes a big mug of tea.

Must get a hotplate fitted in my Somerfield Van.

It is great to see some traditions from the steam days still being used on modern loco, except frying pans are used now instead of shovels!

You can shit on shovel but not in a frying pan as there is no fire to clean it in on a modern loco.

I've always wondered about lavatorial facilities on locos ?

How does a driver / fireman cope ? And do "modern" locos have facilities ?

Perhaps a bucket is provided, but then again it would not be nice for the modern train spotter with the lit cabs.
I have heard of such luxuries, but not in many locos.

You are all right on DMUs, whenever stopped at a station for more than 2 mins you can use the passender loos.

Here is a disgusting thought, would the hotplates evaporate such waste?
Any drivers to help us?
