Hello all,

I have joined this forum to get some general information about railways. I am hoping that I will get some good info about trains and their history.

Welcome to the forum pchristy. I hope you find what you are looking for, but feel free to ask questions & start some threads. It would be interesting to hear what's happening on the railways of India too.

Tony

Hello pchristy184 - seeing you have joined has just inspired me to dig out some photos I took in Mumbai a few years ago - just uploaded.
Cheers.

I went to Goa in the early 90’s in the hope of seeing some steam trains in service. Unfortunately the railway river bridge into the state had collapsed, goods had to be transhipped onto trucks, to finish the journey. Never did get far enough north to see the steam locos. A young couple, I spoke to, had travelled down from Delhi on a steam train, mainly on the footplate, said it was fabulous.

Hello pchristy and welcome to the Railway Forum. I spent a month in India with the RAC who had offices in Bangalore a few years ago. I had a great time over there but I did not see any trains as we were too far from any railway.
