Hitachi Javelin on ECML?
Don't know if it was a trick of the sunlight but I drove past the ECML north of Newark recently (think it was 6th January about 1pm) and I'm sure I saw one of the new Javelin HST's going northbound.
Am I correct or just seeing things? Mick |

Could it perhaps have been a "First Hull Trains" Unit ?? Sat at a Red signal a few hours ago at Joan Croft and one went past and my first thought was is that one of them "Javelin" things but then noticed the "First" Branding.

Hi Chris,
Yes that is possible I suppose. I didn't make that connection because I keep thinking that Hull trains are green. (they did used to be green didn't they?) Mick |

Is the "flyover" for Joan Croft still ongoing ?

Yes that was the green colour scheme I remember. I'm obviously a few years out of date with current liveries.
Looking at the blue livery, I'm not sue that there was that much yellow in evidence but that picture is a 170 turbostar isn't it. Maybe the 222 meridians have a smaller area of yellow. I suppose this would answer my original question though. Looks like it would have been a Hull Trains unit. Thanks. Mick |
