Is there any decent railway bookshops in the north east of england??

I have walked around from Town Centre to Town Centre and the only half/decent Bookshop I can find is "Waterstones" (You need an Amex Gold Card just to get through the Door!!!).I can remember a second Hand Bookshop
and Model shop just near Darlington Railway Station, however I was through
there again about two years ago and it was long closed down.I have lived in
the North East all my life apart from when work has took me to other parts of
the World, and I must admit it's a bit of a Desert if your interests stray from
Tony Blair's Autobiography or the latest Crap from J Archer.I have found a shop on E-Bay in Newcastle but the address is not put up on the sellers info
and e-mail.I have also tried Sunderland/Newcastle/Durham/M.Boro/Northallerton/Thirsk/Rippon/Richmond/
Etc Etc.Should anyone out there know of a decent Transport Bookshop please
let me know through this site.Cheers *GED*

Excellent link Ploughman, that's me skint again! Thanks for posting it.

Also, for Ged, Try the "Shed Shop" at Gromont on the N.Y.M.R., they have a decent selection of S/H books in usually but don't list them on the website.

Regards, 62440.

Hi. There is a bookshop in Alnwick station. They have a good selection of second hand books.

Here is their link.

Still don't understand this website. When I reply to a post should it go to the "New Post" section? If is should then what am I doing wrong?

There's a decent collection (especially local interest) at Locomotion in Shildon, probably as much as is in the main NRM shop
