Cl 310 Electric units
Morning everyone, I wonder if there are any 310 electric units still around ? They used to be at Bletchley and Soho in Birmingham and run up and down between "Brum" and Euston, mind you they were "slam door" stock, so perhaps the "elf" and safety have poked their noses in and "shunted" them away !

Hello 48111 hope you're well? I checked back in my spotting books, and the class 310 units were listed in the 1998 edition but with a lot of gaps where units had been withdrawn, and by the 2002 edition they had all gone, replaced by the class 321's I believe. I don't think that anyone has preserved one, not surprising really as none of the preserved lines have the 25Kv overhead.

There may be a class 310 driving vehicle privately preserved in South wales, and there are two vehicles from a class 312 living in Coventry. The DTC, and a TS. None of the motor coaches from either class are still about.
A long term plan for the 312 maybe to do some cable mods to allow it to work with a blue star multiple fitted loco. |
