Bridge Strikes
Hi All - first post here.
Does anyone have any recent tables on the number of bridge strikes with locations, types of vehicles, bridge type etc. Or a good suggestions on how to get them. Many Thanks |

To start you off, a Double-Decker hit a low bridge near Bury St. Edmunds this afternoon and the Police are puzzled as to WHY the driver took the vehicle down a Narrow Road with a low bridge? They aren't alone, but following an Inspection by Engineers, normal speed has now been resumed.

Hi Shrudeshrek, welcome to the forum, Local paper archives should be a good bet, but you would have to know the locations of the strikes of course. Darwen Street bridge in Blackburn is always being hit by high vehicles, try the Lancashire Evening Telegraph archives.

Welcome shrudeshrek. Quite a technical query and probably only one that Network Rail could answer I would have thought. Even then, it would probably be on a region by region basis.
I wonder if they ever had to report the statistics to the Health and Safety Executive, or to a Parliamentary Enquiry? |
