Felixstowe container port.

I had planned to go to the Mid Norfolk Railway steam gala on Sunday, but due to unforeseen circumstances I did not go - damn !

Anyway, today I decided to go to Felixstowe and see if I could clock what goes on there. I stopped at Trimley station first, then parked the spotting van a bit down the road and got the mountain bike out. I cycled towards the river and followed the track alongside the port until I came to a good viewing spot where the rail link enters the port.

Nothing much of note apart from several class 66 but there was a shunter (08585 - Vicky) positioning 66570 at the front of an outgoing consist. Picture in gallery.

So, not as interesting as a steam gala, but better than sitting at home.

Always nice to have a day doing something different. I went to the Foxfield Industrial gala last Saturday and had a really good day out. Lovely line and all so friendly too.
All the best
Phil
