If it wasn't for the like of Bob Crow and his line of predecesors of all rail unions railwaymen would still be working 18 hour days with no sick pay, rest days, comp leave or holidays. So don't get brainwashed by idiots who say he is a waste of space.

Its the ill informed trainspotters again.
BOB does his job on the tube while bully boy managers rip up national agreements, and impose rosters that dont work. You can always tell when there is a boss about, because they call a yard a shed, thier HV clothing is spotless and when they pick up a shunt pole, they put the curly bit under thier arms and ask me what its use is, and can I make it redundant? Bob is OK with me, and we would be surfs if it was not for the Trade Unions. |

Managers today think they know it all from books and college when they wouldn't know their knob from a steam pump. In my opinion the only and best teacher of ANY craft is experience on t'job.
Same goes for some of these lineside lawyers who seem to assume that all things railway are best learned from Ian Allen and railway press. It's alright sitting there taking train numbers and spotting this that and the other but that is not true knowledge. Oh these folk are dedicated alright but a hobby is not a vocation. |

I am NOT a BLOODY trainspotter that I stopped doing in 1968 when steam friished. I have been a Trade union member since I was 16, I am now 61. I was also a member of the Labour party for 30 years till I got p****d of with TB in 2003.
