Hi,
Thanks for your comments. The coal truck is now on the road and earning its keep. I have another three bedfords on the go, two flat beds and a drop side, along with a 6 wheel ERF tanker and a tractor shovel for the coal yard. I'll try and post some more photos of my layout at the weekend. Alex |

Great stuff Alex. Good to see such excellent modelling.
Just a little thought I have heard it recently by some one in the trade that as much as 80% of people who are interested in the hobby and who have bought models don't actually do any modelling at all.... Any comments anyone??

Well we all know about the "Collectors" who buy stuff and then leave it in it's box forever
then there are the dads "buying for kids" railway modeller who has to pack it all away when Wifey says time (I get mine helping with the scenics ) BUT 80% is a high number that I think maybe too high - - - I've just tried on Freecycle to aquire any broken stuff for the last 3 weeks not got a sniff of a Thomas even

I am getting very little done at present as all my efforts are directed to help getting a full size railway ready to open!
All I have is half built baseboards and a pile of boxes. Best wishes, John H-T.

Hi,
I still model when I can, but sometimes I buy pre built stuff just because it's less hassle to make it. Attached is a piccie of my bus depot. The building is a bought item. The security fence is made from one of those frying pan splatter guards. I still have to add suitable posts and give it a wash of black to tone it down a bit. In the yard next to it are three Bedfords. Part of my growing haulage fleet. I'm working on some decals at the moment. Also a piccie of my coal drop with a recently added tractor shovel. I've made another coal truck. Alex |

The scenes you have created are a credit to you Alex.
I know how fiddly modelling in N-scale can be.

I have just read that those photo's are of N gauge !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not surprised that you buy stuff but those models that you have built put mine to shame I am going to have to find a way of putting more detail in my OO stuff
