Plan to reopen the tunnels on the Monsal Trail, Derbyshire.

The Matlock Mercury reports a project to reopen the four long tunnels on the Monsal Trail between Bakewell and Buxton as part of a £3.785 million project to create a new cycle trail across the Peak District. The project has been awarded £1 million by The Department of Transport and Cycling England has pledged £1.25 million. If aproved the project will start early next year.
