Two hurt as bus hits rail bridge (BBC News)
Two people are hurt when a double-decker bus hit a railway bridge and loses its roof in south London.

Yet another bus loosing its roof. If a train were to have repeated similar incidents then there would be a mass outcry. Especiallly in the media. I'm sure there must be enough technology available to warn drivers about these obstacles.

I don't understand why they even let the bus go that way, if the bridge wasn't high enough.

Usually these are buses off route due to a diversion or a driver just taking a wrong turning or maybe even a private charter. Even if it's not the normal route, I cannot understand a driver of a high vehicle (double decker bus or high sided lorry) paying so little attention that he (or she) fails to notice something like a bridge.
That said, bridge strikes are so common (I believe it's more than one a day nationwide), and presumably expensive, I don't understand why Network Rail don't put more investment into electronic warning devices which give early warning of low bridges. Ther's one near us and it seemas to work well.

A bus company called birch bros used to do regular trips around beds and northants and into london they had double deckers and single deckers .To avoid this happening they fitted different coloured steering wheels if a driver had been on single deckers for sometime and then was given a double decker their head was still in single mode thats how a lot of those accidents happened PJ
