We keep talking about. Time to get on with it: Credit Crunch or no Credit Crunch.
If you think we need more Railways don't vote Conservative at the next General Election because they certainly wont make the investment! |

If you read todays release it implies that the detailed report advising the Government to build HS2 to the West Midlands goes to them just before the end of the year. The more I hear about it the more it sounds like a done deal.
That would at least be a start. Another interesting thing about todays study was that there seems to be Traction in the plan to reconnect about a milion households back to the network who do not have access to rail. They don't name the towns or anything like that but that is also a report that is due soon. They are also talking about new Trains. new lines into London for commuters , new rolling stock, etc As with all things it will come down to money as we seem to have champaign tastes and beer money at the monent.................... |

After the last 10 years of Blair conservatism including the current bloke as chancellor then the pot of money has all but gone in the first 3 months of this year. By the time we have paid off the present debts the country has built up bailing out the banks with our money there aint goin to be much available for the next 10 years. Look where public/private ownership went with Metronet!
