Hello
Hello everyone,
I've finally decided to get involved in the community after having watched from the sidelines. I like all-sorts of trains with the exception of Pacers because I still live in a part of the country where they are regularly deployed. Hooray. I confess that at some point, without having realised it, I found a particular interest in diesels and I'd like to know more about them. Personal favourite are Class 37s but having seen Onslaught at the ELR Autumn Diesel Day then I am not so sure about that now. Anyway, I hope to talk with you all soon. I'm still very new to all this, having convinced myself for years that I was only a passing enthusiast, so please be patient. |

Hello Noel and welcome to the Railway Forum. I have to admit that I was also one who watched from the side-line for some time before I joined. I have learned a lot about British railways as well as the railways of many others country's. I was a fireman on the Rhodesian Railways working on Garretts to the Victoria Falls and through the game reserves. I was then posted to Umtali where I was second man on Diesels.

Hi Noel, from another diesel fan - I love the 'big brothers' of the 37s, namely the 50s (you can tell by my name!) and the Deltics. You must come to the Severn Valley Railway's diesel festivals: they're great. And it's so nice to be among people who understand our passion!
All the best from 'Fearless' |
