Hi. I am new here! I am a homesick English guy living in the Black Forrest in Germany. My interest in British railways and railway modelling keeps me thinking of home. IMO German railways are boring. All their steam locos look the same!
Best regards.

Hello Jonty14 and welcome to the Railway Forum. I will have to say that I like German steam locos. They are very different to the British ones which I find very good looking, where as the German ones look more rugged, more like the locos of Southern Africa.

Hi Jonty, welcome to the forum. Although I prefer British steam to anything else, I was impressed with the 2-10-2T locomotives on the Harz system when I visited in 2006. The Brockenbahn is a great railway & I hope to return next year.

I resent that! Aside from German "same" looking better than most British steam ( ), Germany was once known for a large number of unusual locomotives. I suppose most of that variety was swept away, leaving the majority of locomotives that lasted to the preservation era to be later and/or common designs. You're in a country with an interesting, torturous railway history.
