Tralee and Dingle.
The Tralee and Dingle railway was one of the once many 3 foot gauge railways in Ireland, and today a section of it has been revived.
However, I put this thread here in the hope that the future will be brighter for the railway. At the moment, ht eone steam loco has been out of use for many years, and the future is uncertain. Recently trains have resumed after a period without motive power. Now a rather ugly diesel on loan from the West clare railway has taken over, but the line's future is uncertain. The steam loco, which was one of the originals, Hunslet 5T, has seen heritage era use, but is in need of a heavey overhaul. www.tdlr.org.uk Until a few months ago, I had never even heard of such a railway. Has anyone ever been?

This line featured in a Michael Palin programe about Ireland but it looked a minimal operation with only two coaches and one loco it goes to the windmill at Blaneville scene of mass imigration from Ireland. Shame if it hasnt been succesful.
