hello everyone
I wonder if anyone out there can help! I came to railway modeling late in life and had to pack up my incomplete layout (which was in our small garden shed) when we put the house on the market last year. We have decided to take the house off the market now because of lack of potential purchasers due to the current financial crisis. So I am looking for ideas for a new layout to be built in our smallest bedroom (more comfortable than the shed especially in winter) The room measures 8ft 6ins x 5ft 10ins the door is in one of the short walls and is in a recess 1ft 4ins deep. I am thinking of using 23ins deep boards on one long and one short wall with a narrow 10ins or 12ins deep board over the radiator on the other longer wall leaving space for the door to open back against this wall The layout will be in 00 gauge as my eyesight is not good enough for me to work in any smaller gauge. I would have liked more space to put in a complete circuit for express trains but that may not be possible I would also like to include a village using Hornby Scaledale buildings I am also considering fitting chips to my existing locos and using a Bachman EZ DCC controller Has anyone any suggestions/ideas for a layout for this small space. Many Thanks for your help Tish |
