Railway Station sign help
Good Evening, I have recently purcheased an old Railway station sign (attached) but with very little history. I was windering if anyone is able to tell how old it is and which station it would have been seen on All I know is that it was North West Region. I understand that the sign may have been used on many stations but am just wondering if there is a way of telling moore specifically where it could be found.
Thanks a lot Dan www.facebook.com/DGPRail |

this is a purely British Rail sign not even old enough to say British Railways Found at every station at the end of all platforms MIGHT be worth something in 25 years

I am a bit mistified by the colour so perhaps it is later then the days of the six regions. There was no such thing in thoses days as a North West region with its own colour. They were:-
Western - brown Midland - maroon Southern - green North Eastern - orange Eastern - dark blue Scottish - light blue Later we got Provincial Railways/Regional railways and Network South etc. I suppose the pictured one could have been North Eastern but it is too red. Chris Dent
