New to this site
I am not an ardent railway buff but have general interest in steam railways and anything old. The reason for joining this forum is in the hopes of someone being able to help in my quest. I have lived in Padgate Cheshire all my life and have tried for many years to find a cine film (video or dvd) of Padgate Station in the 1950's or 60's. If anyone out there knows if there has ever been any film to their knowledge I would be extremely grateful if you could point me in the right direction as I would love to see the cattle docks at the station in use they were removed in the 60's.

Welcome. Sorry cant help with your question, but I was impressed to find that there are "284 pubs within 10 miles of Padgate train station"

I know Padgate but can't remember ever seeing it on film. Needless to say I will keep an eye out and let you know if I see anything.

Hi John
Thanks for the welcome. I know it's a long shot to find some film of Padgate but I keep trying even good photo's of the Siding Area elude me I suppose most people only take photo's of the train and not the surrounding area but I will keep looking.
I have never joined anything like this before so it's all a bit strange at present.

Looking through my books I can only find one photo of Padgate station showing the cattle dock in the background and a couple of photos taken at Padgate Junction.
