Just checked fares on my local line. All cheap day fares set by Northern have increased by at least 20p. That might explain why on Saturday there was a computer problem meaning Knutsford station staff couldn't issue tickets (as they were updating the fares).

Still there was no notification of it as far as i have seen but iam glad weekly tickets havent gone up ie Rail Passes etc.

A sighn of the times i think as food and fuel is still on the increase hence the reason for the increase but they should start putting the boundries namley in Merseyside right before they put the fares up agin.

Example RAINHILL has a Liverpool postal code and telephone code but yet comes under St.Helens council so really it should be Area A & C not just area A.

Machine updates rarely happen during the day, however I have noticed the software is regularly updated overnight and there are bugs in the software that appear out of nowhere. They work, happy as larry, then you ask for a return Knutsford - Manchester and thats it, big notice saying it has to shut down, no local reset.
