New boy here

Hello all. I have recently been searching some old railway stuff in my loft and came across some old Hornby stuff. One in particular took my eye. Its a car transporter 'Caravelle' I think and I seem to remember it being on a programme James May of Top Gear fame did some time back. I think he bought it in an auction for £160 or so. It is in originall box, decent condition and all present including cars. Can any of you boys help with this ie is it worth that much.
Regards.

Welcome to the forum Devonrail!
If you have a local model shop they might be able to valueit for you.
£160 is a bit high, but £80 to £100 is more like it as starting prices at least.

Thanks for the welcome! I thought about taking it to a Model Shop for a valuation, Maybe I should. £80, £100 is still good.

Hello Devonrail and welcome to the Railway Forum. I have found that the Model shops are not too keen on giving out the full value of these wagons as they have to make a profit as well. I think your best bet is EBay with a reserve on it (that is in my opinion).

Hello mate. I ve been told the same by someone else(they have to make a living at the end of the day). I am being swayed towards ebay with a reserve. I have also thought about keeping it. There is a fair few bits in my attic and I could do with the space. Maybe I will list some of them and see what happens.
Regards.
