G'day BW,
Here, we have had fatigue management for some time.
That limits the number of danger period sign ons permitted in sequence prior to a mandatory day off.
Plus, also restricts the availability for call out for an extra shift.
And, also restricts the old technique of lift up in sign on times to cram in as many shifts per fortnite as is possible.
Howsoever, that was all under the initial quango that was our partially privatized railway.
As more and more fly by nite mobs emerged, then naturally fewer crews and further working distances became involved.
Have bag will travel as we refer to these mobs.
Gone are the good ole days when the driver would recline his seat for a quick nap while climbing a long grade.
The fireman thumping the vigo (vigilance) system button.
Then as the loco revs altered after reaching the top of the climb, the old hogger came back to life to work the brakes going down hill.
I won't even go to that location we called the Round Trip out of barracks.
SHSSSHHHH, you don't know who is listening.
Steve.
