I'm certinately looking forward to seeing the end result of all this, Manchester city centre has become a construction site for so long the concept of trams passing through are beginning to seem a distant memory

I wonder what is so special about the new versions that is so important it had to completely destroy the service to so long. One thing that interests me is how they will keep the new tracks in good order. Currently there are 'gaps' in between track areas so people can walk across, though the current tracks are looking rather messy, hope the new ones won't end up like that.
