Yes not pleasant, but not as bad as when one of our Lady drivers hit 7 cows on a 100 mph line. She very sensibly told the signaller that NR had to send out a MOM (Mobile operations manager) to come and inspect the train, because she wasn't prepared to.
Just as well, because apparently the front of the train was in a terrible state (MOMs usually attend 'Person hit by a train' incidents, and have special training).
