My recollections don't quite tie in with the data available on the internet!
Which I hasten to add doesn't make me right! As I recall my first Ian Allen Steam book was late '50's and Leicester London Road was already 15A then. Leicester Great Central was 15C, again as I recall and none of the internet information agrees with me on that! But there again it could have been 15E!
I have both Steam & Diesel books somewhere, I'll try and dig them out to confirm .... or not!!
At my age, it's easy to be confused!
One good thing, this has reminded of many a happy hour spent on 'Birdcage Walk' with my binoculars surveying the yard & shed. All those Jubilee's and Peaks D1 - D10 passing through on the mainline! Although I wasn't so keen on Diesels back then.
